Highway 13 Band is a genuine classic rock band, playing classic rock music the way it was meant to be played. Our show features music, primarily Rock & Roll of the 60's but ranging from the 50's to the late 70's. Our goal is to keep you dancing all night long, and to make you turn your head and say, wow, I haven't heard that song in years. The band members individually and collectively are dedicated to bringing their respective talents and their love of "classic rock" to the stage each and every time they perform and can always be counted on to deliver an exciting collection of classic rock 'n' roll for your listening and dancing pleasure.

The members of Highway 13 have been involved in the music industry for many years.


Terry and Joe began playing together in the early 60's on HIGHWAY 13 in Lampe, Mo., when they formed a band with life long friend, David Newman. Their gigs consisted of High School Dances and local venues but as they ventured out and went their separate ways those simple beginnings would develop into impressive lifelong careers.
Terry Garrison, our lead guitarist, graduated from Blue Eye High School in 1967 and went on to The Collage of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri. After college Terry, went to work in the music and movie industry. He has been associated with major entertainers and traveled worldwide. Terry has worked with gospel groups including the legendary Dottie Rambo, as well as contemporary artists including, Jennie Pruitt and Pop Icon Dolly Parton, from, 1976 until 1988. Terry has also worked personally with numerous actors including, Mel Gibson & Sissy Spassick-The River, Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds - Best Little Whorehouse in Texas & Steel Magnolias , Scott Glen - My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys, filmed in Guthrie, Oklahoma, and others. After many years on the road Terry is back home in THE MISSOURI OZARKS, playing with HIGHWAY 13.
Mike Price, Harmonica, Lead and backup vocals, started playing in bands in the early 60's . Price and his Brother Tiger, started THE SILVER EAGLE BAND in the 70's and toured throughout Mo., Ok., and California. Mike went solo and cut an album in the early 80’s, and placed third in the Wrangler Showdown, but he missed being part of a band, so he formed OZZIE AND THE ACES a classic rock and roll review. Mike has 40 plus years in music, And has shared the stage with a host of acts including, John Fred’s Playboys, Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, Big Brother, Muddy Waters, Hank Thompson, Dr Hook, Flash Cadillac, Eddie Eugene, Lionel Hampton, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Roy Buchanan and a host of others. After 40 years Mike is still rockin’ with The Highway 13 Band
Don Shinaut Keyboards, Lead and backup vocals, has an extensive background in music both playing and writing. Don Played in The Fremont Nebraska High School jazz band and sang in the choir. After Graduating, in 1979 Don joined the Navy. He played guitar in the service and when he got out he returned to Fremont and joined a group called Sting, that played in a 5 state area. After that Don was invited to go to work with Riccochet/The Maxx, a show band actively touring 15 states and playing 51 weeks a year. Don eventually settled in the Ozarks and became a part of The Highway 13 Band
Bassist Allen Dale  is a consummate showman and  has performed on stages all over the world.  In a career that spans 40 years Allen has done 3 world tours, played on 4 continents, 38 states.  During The Vietnam War Allen's band did 2 tours and were the most requested rock and roll band playing for the troops.  Allen has opened for and toured with many late 60's and 70's National Acts including The Buffalo Springfield and The Seeds.   Allen is a seasoned music pro, and now he brings his performance savvy and his captivating stage presence to  the Highway 13 Band.
Deb Merriman Lead Vocals and Percussion, The Lovely and Delightful Miss Deb, was raised on the Buffalo River in Newton County Arkansas, singing, playing and writing. She taught her self to play the organ at age 6. In school she played clarinet and sang in the choir. Her love for music grew and she began playing out at ho-downs, gospel music festivals and talent competitions, in Mo. Ar. Ok. & Tx. Deb was invited to showcase her original music for the Nashville Songwriters’ Association and appeared on The Nashville Talent, TV show. Now she brings her talent and energy to the Highway 13 Band.
Joining the band in 2008 Rick Brennan is taking over for founding member Joe Hayhurst and will be setting the tempo for the electrifying Highway 13 Band. Rick started his musical career in Springfield Mo but relocated to southern California where he played many prominent venues including The Branding Iron, Cowboy, The Plush Horse and the world famous Palomino Club in N. Hollywood. Brennan has shared the stage with the likes of Donna Fargo, Tanya Tucker, B. J. Thomas and The original cowboys sweetheart the legendary Patsy Montana. Rick has many years experience both on the road and in the studio. The Highway 13 band, is glad to have him on board as we bid a fond farewell to our friend and brother Joe,

Richard Piel, on Tenor Saxophone, Richard was born in St. Louis and performed there prior to joining the Navy. He continued playing while he was stationed in California where met and joined the musicians who became “The Dartells.” Richard has played with many  many name artists throughout his career. including Ike and Tina Turner, Littlie Anthony and the Imperials, The Four Seasons, & The Beach Boys.  He was on the hit program Shindig, hosted by Bobby Sherman with Jackie DeShannon and Johnny Crawford. One of his favorite memories is playing back up and being MC for Marvin Gaye. He has played in many prominent venues including Bob Eubank’s (Cinnamon Cinder) nightclubs in California. He recently moved back home to Missouri and has had the pleasure of playing with some of the prominent local bands before joining The Highway 13 Band.
